Spring 2008
Well, Spring is officially underway, and that means only one thing.... Iona Water Polo Alumni party. Third Stone was back once again to help the Polo alum rock well into the wee hours at Spectators on May 3rd with 3 rollicking sets of music. Joined by everyone's favorite guitar virtuoso, Mark Barden, and Bob "No Salt Margarita" Petty on bass, the Stone scalded the crowd with 3 sets of music that had the faithful at a fever pitch. In addition to the normal repertoire was an Allman Brothers set featuring no fewer than a dozen ABB classics that included most of the "Live from the Fillmore East" set.
We are in the midst of solidifying our Spring/Summer gig schedule, which at press time, already contains confirmed gigs on Memorial Day at the Hudson Park Band Shell, The Bayou on 6/6, Dudley's on 7/12, and no fewer than 3 outdoor gigs at Cafe Mozart in Mamaroneck (right out on Mamaroneck Ave), one in June, July and August. For those of you who are members at Davenport Beach Club (did someone say Daveyport?), we are currently looking at returning this summer to play in the patio area like we did last year. A fun time was had by all there, so be on the lookout for that. Be sure to check the calendar page of the web site for additions, which we will post as they are confirmed.
For those of you who have seen us over the past few months, you will have noticed a couple of new faces in the TS family. Since approximately October of 2007, we have been luck enough to have been joined by Armand DiBiase on Bass, and Carrie Silverstein on Saxophone. We welcome Carrie and Armand to fold. The band has never sounded better. Be sure to say hello to Armand and Carrie when you see them at the next gig!
